There are those days during the summer where you can’t go outside because it’s raining or just too darn hot. What are you to do? Play, of course! What better toy to play with than old school Lincoln Logs. My kids and my husband are quite smitten with them and they all have a great time playing and building log cabins then knocking them down.
We reviewed the Lincoln Log Redfield Ranch. It’s quite cool because it came in a plastic log barrel that my kids love to sit on. There’s even enough room to hide their other toys and stuffed animals. Bonus when a toy is multifunctional right? Mr. C had a lot of fun with daddy building this ranch even though he tried so hard to do it all by himself. I think daddy had the most fun since he use to have Lincoln Logs when he was a kid. He said he didn’t remember them coming with directions though, you had to use your imagination when you were building. After they were done it was time to demolish and in a four-year-old’s mind, that’s the best part!
Miss C. was really not interested in building. Being two, she had better things to do. Mainly putting her dolls and bear in the log barrel then sitting on it. She was not going to let big brother near that barrel and of course siblings will be siblings and I had to break up the fight! Regardless, they both had a lot of fun playing with the Lincoln Logs, even if it was just the container they came in. They both really enjoy picking them up when play time is over too. They sit a few feet from the barrel and like to throw them in. Kudos to the company for getting my kids to clean up after themselves!
